Lorraine Fox
American, 1922–1976
Father and Son at the Beach, 1946
Gouache on board 7 1/2 × 3 1/4 in 19.1 × 8.3 cm Generations ahead of the pack, little know Lorraine Fox developed a simple, charming and flat style that is emulated today but not equaled. Her work is rooted in sound academic training. Very few contemporary artists have this talent because there is simply no one to teach them. If you look at this work from an abstraction, Lorraine Fox anticipates artist such as Jonas Wood and Mary Feddin. Signature: Signed l.r. Lorraine Fox Redbook Magazine Heritage Auctions |
