Murray Tinkelman is a supremely brilliant, underrated and overlooked artist.
He constructed complex forms using fine line work and cross hatching. It's a kind of linear Pointillism.
Up close it's a complete abstraction. Step back and the image reveals itself. Look at the detail of his work.
Nothing else needs to be said. Very few is any artist alive could do a Murray Tinkelman.
He was a science-fiction and fantasy illustrator/artist who won gold medals from the Society of Illustrators.
His collections can be found in Brooklyn Museum, the Delaware Art Museum, the International Photography Hall of Fame and Museum, and the New Britain Museum of American Art.
