Powerful pencil study of Bachoo, Countess Woronzow. Tchelitchew exaggerates the sitters features with abnormally large eyes for dramatic effect, Bachoo (Countess Bachoobai Woronzow-Dashkow, 1914-2003) and her brother Edulji Framroze Dinshaw (1916-1970), born into a very prominent Parsi family, settled New York in the 1940s. Leonor Fini painted Bachoo the same year and clearly Tchelitchew's version sings where Fini studders. Work is framed
