Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of more than 10 different styles of Color Photography. He is generations ahead of his time. This is a very early experimentation with negative color and in 1971 shows unparalleled insight into the medium's potential. It's combined with colored filters that yield a romantically beautiful yet eerie world. Executed at the height of the psychedelic era, Funk takes a familiar central park scene and transforms it into a dream-like fantasy world. The viewer is invited to walk down a path of an altered reality. In the pre-digital world of the 1970's, 80's and 90's Funk had more than 50 photography magazine covers.
