A tight composition, precise lighting , graphic design and exact color scheme normally associated with a studio advertising shoot meets photojournalism. Historically, street photography was grab and shoot or run and gun. The end result was a non-composition. Since the late 1960's, Mitchell Funk has always broken that mold with his exact and carefully composed outdoor images that bring the mindset of studio pre-production to and unfolding instant on the street. Years of experiences have honed his camera handling ability and camera dexterity to seize that perfect moment before someone walks into your frame. Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of color photography. In 1970 , he was in the "FIRST" all color photography show at an American Museum. It was "Images en Couleur" at Brooklyn Museum curated by Henry Ghent. br In 1971, he was included in visionary book "Frontiers of Photography" Time Life. br The book also featured abstract and bold color photography of Ernst Hass, Andy Worhol and Lucas Samaras. During his advertising and editorial career he has done covers and editorial assignments for Newsweek, Life and Fortune and New York Magazine. He has had over 50 photography magazine covers. His corporate clients include ATT, GM, IBM, Epson, Nikon and Microsoft
