In the early 1970s, color photography was not really considered to be art by any standard. Mitchell Funk is one of the early trailblazers of color photography as fine art. In this 1970 example of an in-camera multiple exposure, Funk interchanges magenta, red, blue yellow and green filters over his base image of the Brooklyn Bridge. The multiple exposures were done on the spot with Kodachrome 2 while Funk shoots and rewinds and then shoots again.
