Veiled in subtle gradations of silver and grey, the Chrysler Building proudly rises above a tight interlocking formation of less consequential neighbors. A new, boxy, and clumsy vertical competitor, called One Vanderbilt, flanks the Art Deco icon to the right. It frames the Chrysler Building and draws the viewer into the composition, directing the eye to the pointed spire. Photographer Mitchell Funk has bathed the image in a monochromatic color scheme, giving it a unique look as silvers and greys interact with each other. In the foreground, to the right, is a city bus that is blurred, enhancing the image's uncommon beauty.
