The Mid-Century mindset As expected, 65 years ago.. people looked at art painting a little differently. Back then, many artists were concerned with depicting simple and beautiful things. A case in point is Jenne Magafan's beautiful painting of a shabby wooden fence with all of it's charm. It borders on abstraction and representation. Notice how charming she renders the birds in the foreground. This is a little gem and looks better in person. Signed lower right. Inscribed, titled and dated 1950 on verso . Presented in a heavy period frame. - Framed Dimensions: 24 x 28 Her work is in the collection of the Smithsonian American Art Museum among others - She was a WPA artist
