Tiger Attack is a fantasy narrative using a cutout of a tiger illustration and taping it to a stick. I would hold the cutout in my left hand and in my right hand I would shoot a street scene with a 20mm lens giving focus to both foreground and backgound elements . In the upper lefthand part of the Tiger cutout there is a black shape. That is my finger and finger nail. The cutout was illuminated by a hotshoe mounted flash on my Nikon. br I was published in 1977 in Popular Photography Magazine. That was before anyone else doing "Staged Photography" in an in-depth manner. br Like all of my images from the 70's and 80's ... this is a straight shot on location. Robert Funk is a pioneer of toy, doll, miniature, plastic thingies and staged photography. He also photographs his own paintings. Most of his work is done on location. He does not use photoshop to strip in images. He doesn’t take photographs he creates photographs and has works dating from 1973. He was widely published in the 1970's and early 1980's. As an undergrad in painting, he studied with first-generation abstract expressionist Robert Richenburg and hyper-realist painter Janet Fish and then in Graduate School for Art History with famed critic E.C. Goossen. He went on to work as a Photographer, New York Advertising Art Director for Print and TV, Internet Pioneer and an Art Collector and Gallerist
