An All-Over pattern with no central focus features toy plastic army soldiers composed in a uniform way. This is an early color photograph that mimics what abstract expressionist and color field painters were doing with paint on canvas. Notice there are two areas of yellow. That's light hitting the glue that secures the toy soldiers to the primed wood panel. Thanks to my art teacher Robert Richenburg who introduced all his students to the inspiring concepts and theories of that defining American art movement . I had initially done this concept in 1970 with hundreds brown paper bags in vertical and horizontal alignment posted above the windows in Ithaca College art studios. I revisited the idea again on an smaller scale with the plastic two soldiers. At the time, I did not have 30 feet of open space.
