This double portrait may provoke a double-take. The girl on the left is real live flesh and blood. The smaller girl on the right is a paper cutout from a 50's pulp magazine. It is silhouette and attached to a support stick. My Nikon is in my left hand and the girly cutout is in my right hand. Like all of my staged photos from the late 1970's, this is a straight shot without photoshop strip in. This series of staged photographs examines the somewhat fine line between what is real and what is not real ( Staged ). With an endless barrage of pictures and screens, photographic reality today is even more a subclass of reality than ever. Robert Funk is a pioneer of Staged Photography, Miniature Photography and Thingie Photography. He was widely published in the late 1970's and early 1980's. He published a article on Stage Photography in the early 1980s'.
