In the 1970s, senior citizens were fixtures on New York City park benches. In this image, golden light conveys the expressive nature of a disparate relationship between an old man and a stone statue of a boy. Although markedly different, both subjects are essentially statues. One is more permanent than the other. Photographer Mitchell Funk's use of a long lens combined with magical light unifies both figures within the same pictorial space. The meaning of the image is enigmatic. The aesthetic appeal is beautiful. br Signed, dated and numbered 3\\u002F15, lower right recto. Other sizes are available and the fine art photograph is unframed and printed later.
