Funk extracts images from their original content and pieces them together with other images. The 35mm emulsion of "Silhouetted Ukrainian Church" was cut with an Exacto Knife and then burned with a match to create the bubble effect. The image was then sandwiched with another photo of a sunset that was taken with a deep orange filter. The result is a simultaneous, cerebral , emotional and physical approach to photography. It was created 47 years ago.
