A polarizing filter creates a deep saturated blue sky. It's juxtaposed against a high energy bright yellow sign and flanked by semi-silhouetted factory smoke stakes. The image foreshadows photography tends 40 years into the future. Absence or minimized human presence is characteristic of Funk's varied and broad ranging oeuvre. Look closely at the bottom center of the image and you will see the top of the United Nations Building.
