An uncanny juxtaposition of sleek design. The bold geometric forms of the Chrysler Building Spire are set against the equally sleek lines of a contemporary passenger jet. The building pushes vertically while the jet thrusts horizontally. Both spire and jet are cloaked in shiny metal which Mitchell Funk' exploits with his signature style of potent lighting. This photograph masterfully demonstrates Funk's uniquely deep knowledge of color, shape, and design in contemporary color photography. br Signed dated and numbered 3/5 lower right recto, other sizes available, unframed and printed later. This work is printed on fine art Hahnemuhle paper. The color will vary from monitor to monitor.
Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of "Color Photography." In 1970, he participated in one of the first "Color Photography" shows at a major museum. The Brooklyn Museum exhibition "Images en Couleur". In 1971, He was included in the visionary book "Frontiers of Photography" by Time-Life. As well as "Color ! " American Photography Transformed. Amon Carter Museum, and he is in the Coca-Cola Archives. He has had more than 50 Photography Magazine Covers, and has had covers on Newsweek, Fortune, Life Magazine and New York Magazine, and has been in The Smithsonian American Art Magazine,
