Photographer
Mitchell Funk demonstrates the link between minimalism and street
photography, which is usually associated with a loose snapshot style.
The
present image fuses different architectural styles, shapes, and colors
into a highly dramatic and original New York City image. Here, Funk
incorporates a colorful 42nd Street marquee as an unexpected framing
device to highlight the iconic spire of the Chrysler Building. The image
showcases close-up and distant elements that form a unified
composition. It emphasizes Funk's meticulously crafted and designed
style, giving the photograph a strong pictorial presence, and is part of
the photographer's current exhibition. Mitchell Funk Photographs the
Chrysler Building for 50 Years.

This archival color photograph by Mitchell Funk is signed, dated and
numbered 3/15, lower right recto. Other sizes are available and the fine
