Marta Sawyers. Illustrator Journalist. She was sent to war ravaged countries to “Paint the Story”. br What's unique here? This represents the work an Artist Journalist - War Correspondent. The magazine art director sent her to "draw the war". Trailblazing Sawyers was in China on an on-location magazine assignment. Adventure and danger mixes with academic art training and the passion to paint. The work is brilliantly rendered in a quick post-impressionist style. Her study at the Art Student League in New York equipped her with sound academic skills. Notice how wonderfully structured the figures are and not a line out of place.
