Pioneering Female Illustrator Barbara Briggs Bradley was an in-demand illustrator in the 1950s. Merrill Publishers of their famous children's books hired Barbara Briggs Bradley to do various work for them. "B is for Betsy" is one such work "Paper Dolls" is consummately rendered and designed. This work was for the front cover. Briggs Bradley also did interior illustrations, and we have them as well. The work is unsigned but is credited on verso. Unframed and in very good condition. br Barbara Briggs Bradley went to UC Berkeley and Art Center in San Francisco. The she went east to where all the major publishing assignments were - New York City. She worked at the fabled Charles E. Cooper Studios in New York City. br Midway in her career she returned to San Francisco and Director of illustration, at the Academy of Art University. br She is the author of: Drawing People: How to Portray the Clothed Figure. She is a member of Society of Illustrators in New York. br She taught drawing workshops in London, at Pixar, and at Disney Animation Studios in Burbank and Orlando. br Some of her other commercial clients were, Bank Of America. Shasta Beverages. Skateboard. Dole Pineapple. Borden's Milk
