This is a very early example of Ray Johnson's Mail Art assemblage
displayed in a shadowbox frame, consisting of a brown paper parcel
addressed from Johnson to Rbt. Bucker, and a hinged wooden collage.
Signed and dated March, with a postmark of April 1969. Framed by
Buecker, reverse bearing Buecker & Harpsichords stamp and
handwritten Ray Johnson March 15, 1963. Frame measures 18 1/8 x 19 1/4
in. On verso, signed Ray Johnson and dated March 15, 1963.
The date
has been overpainted in heavy black and the date has been changed to
1963. Under a block of white overpaint covers up the number "0" and it
was changed.
