Betty was my Mom's best friend and my mentor, when I was growing up in Vienna, VA in the 1960's. She is without a doubt responsible for me becoming the artist I am today. She loved my childish drawings, and encouraged and pushed me like no other. I was captivated by her charming water color illustrations and wanted to be just like her when I grew up. She was the kindest, most lovely, dearest person ever, I will always remember her with deepest gratitude and love.
