This is a straight shot. The camera was secured on a tripod. A long exposure on Kodachrome 25 was used to compensate for the dark light blub lit hallway. I snapped the foreground girly cut-out and then walked back, faced the camera and then flashed myself. As creepy and haunting as the photo looks, it was nothing compared to how creepy the hotel "really" was. In 1974, I rented my Hotel St. George studio on the 10 floor for $100 bucks a month.
